had a great day out at the
on sunday

.
.
it was great to see so many people out enjoying the music
and the sun!
it ran pretty smooth once the truck turned up (two hours late)
thanks to dave, helen and some big sexy git for sorting the pa and sound
.
the day kicked off with scary uncle , playing to their usual great standard, getting the ones in the know to join in with greats like Scrape Me Off The Ceiling and the classic Pretty Pointless Song
.
early mid band slots were filled with a very talented 15 year old lass (who's name i wil find out) who belted out a few acoustic tunes from the likes of radiohead and elliot smith, great voice, great guitar
.
then it was time for ice childs first ever gig, which went pretty well once the nerves settled
great version of the hives hate to say i told you so
.
next up were mid life crisis , and the boys were on top form, sounding great and obviously enjoying every minute of it, with crush getting the crowd bopping along with songs varying from franz ferdinand to the pogues and james to roxy music
.
it was Bad Penny's turn next and they kicked in with a bit of r 'n' b rocky stuff including songs by the who and the first run thru of gary moores i'm walking of the day which got the crowd dancing
.
i was a MoJo virgin before this gig, but from the opening song 'looking back' it was spot on, as tight as sam on pay day and as smooth as baz's butt
great to hear 'she's a wind up' again and really nice to see sam enjoying it once his nerves had settled a bit (soft git) plus a cracking version of bonie maronie at the end, also great to see meg enjoying seeing her grandad playing
.
after a short break for col and baz to sort out the groupies and top up on curly wurly's the bare essentials took to the stage (sorry , truck) and played a varied set including the killers and a cracking version of the chilli peppers last single, danni california which once again got the, by now pissed up and sunburnt, crowd up dancing
.
last on were Resurgence , who i also had never seen
and they were great , with beefed up classics like these boots are made for walking , they were just what the doctor ordered and soon got a load of lobster red, slightly wobbly peeps up on their feet (and that was just me) and everyone was enjoying it so much that when the heavens opened and the rain came down, they just kept on dancing
.
unfortunatly with the late start and the rain, The Erics did'nt get to play which was a bit of a bugger as after seeing all the other bands i was really up for it
.
but really everyone had a great day
.
cheers for coming
